Probiotic Hummus?
Have you tried any Wild Wood products?
One day my hubby brought me home some "probiotic hummus"... needless to say I wasn't really interested in trying it. Add to that it was raspberry flavored hummus!! Anyway.
I didn't like it.
But, they do have typical flavors as well and lots of other goodies-- plus now they have coups!

Entertainment Books actually are cool...
So I used to think those "Entertainment Books" were a waste of money, but now that I am a couponer I see how awesome they are!
A friend recently gave me hers because she hadn't used anything in it, and I immediately went to work using the coups. There were loads of restaurant coupons and many of them were for places I already go to eat.
There were also some grocery store coups for $5 off $20 purchase, which I happily used as competitor coups at Publix.
Entertainment Books usually cost $35, they are on special right now 2 for $20. Check it out!

Quiznos Deal
Is Quiznos healthy?
I don't know that I have ever been there but I am always reminded of those crazy commercials they had...
They do have a veggie sub. What could be unhealthy about a bunch of veggies and a slice of cheese toasted on whole wheat bread?
Ok, I really want a sandwich. I should not blog while hungry.
Remember that?
Anyway... Quiznos is offering up a Get a Free Sub when you buy one Sub of equal or greater value and a fountain drink. They do have a veggie sub. What could be unhealthy about a bunch of veggies and a slice of cheese toasted on whole wheat bread?

Organic candy deal
Yummy Earth lollipops are one of the only candies I can actually give my daughter.
They are all natural, and sweetened with organic evaporated cane juice & organic tapioca syrup. I just found this 150 pc container of assorted flavor pops on sale for $10.70.
Might have to snatch this up as a solution for future birthday parties or as part of the halloween mix this year-- this is 50% off!
By the way, these are: allergen-free; gluten-free; GMO-free; egg-free; soy-free; nut-free; casein-free; dairy-free!
Homemade Frozen Treats & Pops
My daughter's favorite dessert is banana ice cream.
Guess what it is?
A frozen banana that I whir around in the food processor until it gets smooth.
Yup, that's it! Sometimes I top it off with nuts, chocolate chips, fresh fruit, or hemp seed. But essentially it's a banana. :)
Just remember that when your bananas are getting a bit overripe, peel them and bag them in freezer bags. Otherwise you will have to let them thaw a bit before peeling and the ice cream trick won't work.
Another fave around here are popsicles. We usually make them as we would smoothies, blending fruit & milk. Favorite combinations include:
1 cup almond milk
1 banana
a handful of strawberries
OR
1 cup coconut milk
flesh of 1 mango
1 banana
You can also just use fruit and fruit juice but we like to add some calories around here. Pour into popsicle molds(usually available at Dollar Tree this time of year or there are some super cool ones on Amazon), pop them in the freezer & you have snacks!
Cheap & healthy snacks I might add!
Hemp Brownies, anyone?
SO I made hemp brownies the other day...
Hemp brownies, not its more popular cousin the pot brownie. :)
Anyway, I used the last of the hemp seed.
And buying more is definitely not in the budget this week.
But I found this giant 3 lb bag of hemp seed on sale for $24.31. This is an awesome price. I usually pay around $8 for an 8 oz bag, and you can't often find coups or deals on this kind of item.
If you haven't tried hemp seed before, it is a super-protein-rich food, full of fiber, vitamin e and iron. Awesome for vegetarians and just about anyone, I put it in smoothies, baked goods, sprinkled over soups or pasta dishes. I throw a handful in every batch of muffins, cookies, brownies or bread, adding just that little extra nutrition without interfering with the original taste-- it has a very light nutty flavor.
You can save even more by signing up for the "subscribe & save" option. This can be cancelled at anytime but will give you another 15% off plus free shipping.
Or just use the code NUTAO5IO to save an additional 10% without signing up for anything.
I'm going for it!
Free Organic Shampoo?
I stopped into CVS today(i love those magic coupon-printing machines they have now!!), and I noticed a brand of organic shampoo I hadn't seen before, Renpure Organics.
And what do you know, there was a hangtag on the shampoo that beckoned to me, "Try Me Free".
It's a rebate for the full purchase price of the item.
So I snagged it with extra care bucks, so no out-of-pocket expense, and I will be getting the full amount back in the mail.
They are $6.99 at CVS. This is just one of the ways I've been turning my ECBs into Cash!!

Saving Ideas for Summer...
I was thinking last night about how coupons & deals are not the only ways I save.
So I decided to share a couple of other saving tips for your kitchen!
First off- Pressure Cooking!
A friend introduced me to pressure cooking a few years back. I was cooking dry beans all the time and sometimes they would sit in a pan on the stove all day long. Black beans in particular never seemed to cook just right and when they did it was after 2-3 hours of cooking.
Pressure cooking is the opposite of that! I don't even soak my beans overnight. I use a quick soak method:
Place dry beans in the pressure cooker, cover with water so there are several inches of water over the beans. With lid OFF, bring to a boil. Turn the heat off on the stove, put the lid on the pot, and let it sit for an hour. This is in place of soaking, and works beautifully.
After an hour you can pressure cook your beans- this usually takes between 7-15 mins, here is a great resource for pressure cooking times.
This has saved me so much money in buying canned beans(which by the way, I never see any good coups for), tons of time, and I'm sure has saved a lot of electricity.
Use your beans to make dips & hummus, summer bean salads, toss some chick peas over pasta or greens.
Next up- Homemade Frozen Treats & Pops... maybe later today, maybe tomorrow!

(these are on sale for $5.99 this week at Target)
$3/2 Wild Harvest Organic Cereals *printable*
$.35/1 Del Monte Organic Pickles *printable*
$1/2 Uncle Ben's Whole Grain Brown Rice *printable*
Lots of new printables at Red Plum and Target as well! Remember that many Publix locations will take your Target coupons as competitor coupons.
A nice surprise...
I took a couple of days off of couponing & dealfinding to just chill and recover from a terrible week. So imagine my surprise last night when I went to Target and found some awesome deals.
First off, the Kashi items are on special again- Buy any 5 selected Kashi items and get a $5 Target Gift Card.
The cereal is on sale for $2.88, so if you buy 5 of those with no coupons, you will pay $14.40 and get a $5 card(essentially paying $9.40 or $1.88 each). But pull out some coups and you can do even better.
My target actually had Kashi coupon books stacked up at the pharmacy of all places. Included was a $1/1 Kashi Cereal. I used 5 of these, and a Target coupon which is no longer available($1.50 off when you buy 3 kashi cereals) paid $7.90 and got $5 back, ultimately paying less than $.60 a piece for one of the only cereals we eat in this house.
There have been lots of Kashi coupons available lately- look for $3 peelies on the cereal boxes that take $1/1 bars, frozen items & more.
The other deal I found was for Bear Naked Granola. My husband loves this stuff, and they had the flax/blueberry variety on special purchase- buy 5 and get a $5 Gift card.
They are on sale for $2.88 and each package has a $1/1 peelie!! So you would pay $9.40 after coups and get $5 back.
Some pretty good deals on some awesome food! Time to stock up.

All Natural Sun Protection, For Real
God I hate sunblock. It is chemical hell.
But as white as I am, I truly need it, especially here in Florida.
Today's special on Jasmere is a great deal on Vive Sana, a truly natural sunscreen.
It is 56% off, currently priced at $19 for 2 tubes at 2.25oz per tube.
But Jasmere is interesting because the more people who order today's special, the lower the price goes, so you could end up paying even less.
They ask you to spread the word on Facebook or other social networking platforms so more people will get the chance to buy, thus lowering your cost. Cool deal!
